Butter FAQsUpdated 2 years ago

Can butter be stored at room temperature?

While butter can be kept at room temperature, we always recommend storing butter in the refrigerator at or below 40°F, or in the freezer, to ensure maximum quality and guard against spoiling.

Can I freeze butter?

Cabot Butter can be frozen in its original wrapper until the sell-by date. However, to protect against “refrigerator flavor” we recommend wrapping the butter in foil or storing it in an airtight bag. Once thawed, Cabot butter should be stored in the refrigerator to preserve its flavor.

What is the natural flavoring in Cabot Unsalted Butter?

The natural flavor in our Unsalted Butter refers to “Non-Diacetyl Dairy Flavor.”  It can be made from components found in a variety of foods, but lactic acid is the most common source.

What's the difference between your regular Cabot butter and Cabot's Extra Creamy Premium butter?

It's all in the butterfat! Our Extra Creamy Premium Butters have 83% butterfat, making it richer and creamier than your everyday butter which is 80% butterfat.
